"Juan and Erica, Progressive Salsa Dance Class- Synergy Dance Zone, Miramar, CA"

August, 2011

For the month of August we focused on footwork technique for partnering combinations. Proper footwork is what allows you to execute complex moves with speed. My lesson plan of the month involved repetitive footwork drills that focused on precision.   We applied these techniques to four new patterns centered around this month's key move, the "In * Out" also known as the "Copa."  The video below captured three of the four patterns taught this month.

"Juan and Erica, Progressive Salsa Dance Class- Synergy Dance Zone, Miramar, CA"

June, 2011

For the month of June we focused on improving agility in our dancing. Agility is a combination of speed, balance and coordination. My lesson plan of the month involved a set of drills and exercises that increased awareness for the body to allow improvement in all the three aspects of agility.   I taught how to move efficiently enabling you to be more dynamic in your movement and applied these techniques to four new patterns centered around this month's key move, the "Around-the-World."  To get a glimpse of what was taught, please watch the video below.
