Monthly Lesson Plan

Beginner "On1" Class

In February we will continue to perfect the basics and build a strong foundation that will enable you to feel comfortable, confident and dance with ease. Although the class is not a progressive one, in order to encourage people to drop-in as they feel, the class does focus on certain Salsa patterns and moves, as the monthly themes. This allows those who have steady attendance with a broader perspective of a particular move and the various ways in which it could be executed. This sense of repetition builds better muscle memory and retention the  classes learn a variety of ways of leading/ following some of the basic common patterns.

          February's Themes:
Diverse Cross-Body Leads, Basket & Titanic moves

Th
ese classes will give you essential knowledge and terminology about the dance. You will learn fundamental dance moves of Salsa, and be given tips to properly "lead & follow", as you link sequences of dance patterns together and execute them with various dance partners. Clearly understanding the basics and these patterns will prepare you for the Intermediate Progressive class.
